Overweight and Obesity in Canada-A Population Health Perspective
A report put out by the Canadian Institute for Health Information states some very strong statistics around the obesity rates in Canada:
"The dramatic increases in overweight and obesity among Canadians over the past 20 years have been deemed to constitute an epidemic. According to the World Health Organization, the impact of the obesity epidemic on non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cancer threatens to overwhelm health systems, the need of prevention and control is clear"
